Snippet from my upcoming short series!

Snippet from my upcoming short story series:

Todd, you better stop hating me." She smirks.

Todd replied back, "Hating? You? Your plan, our misery."

"So you don't hate me?"

"Ofcourse, not," Todd smugs, "Are you good in English? 

"Hell!" Scarlett, "You can't even flirt. Yep, I'm good in English. "

"What's opposite of hate? "

"Love." Her cheeks reddening as tomato.

"Do you?" He faces his whole to her. Asking perpetually. 

"Yes." Scarlett asks,"Would you be with me?"

"Yes." He takes her hand in his.

"I wanna be with you. " She mumbles.

"I wanna be with you too." He blushes like maniac.

"What a tragic memory Scarlett!"she mumbles,"No lies. Just dodge a bullet. End of the story. "

Her wet hair on her wet face with overflowing eyes had him concerned. He just saw a glance of Scarlett which he might never ever want to see from his bedroom window. He feared her. Against the usual doorbell, Scarlett was loudly thumbing on the main door.

"TODD- I want to talk." She wailed, "Open the door. I am standing down in the rain."

 He stood transfixed near the door. Unable to open the doorknob, he knew she is leaving him. 

"I won't, Scarlett." He casually confronted with his shivering throat, "So I was your lab rat too? I'm one of those guys who bored you? Leave me alone, Scarlett. You're free to go."

"Stop this, Todd." she continued, "Would you let me talk?"

He opened the door after a long haul of 12 minutes.

Scarfs, Polaroids, diary pages, her umbrella with one broken heel, childhood photos, first Halloween candy and movie tickets of cinemas they've saw since teens. Pictures, pictures a lot of pictures his friends secretly clicked when they used to chat in school cafeteria. All dumped in front of her.

"I did want to mail them back. But I couldn't. Take yourself away from me so we both could live in peace."

She just stood as if the doom's day crashed on her.

He knew Scarlett, since he knew any other girl. After school, Todd invariably dated people by being emotionally unavailable. Scarlett dated a dozen with web of lies in which she was already trapped. 

Nation's duty. Scarlett, the Cadet Cop.

Todd closed the door without hearing her pleas. After all, He can't change her temperament. He cannot stand losing her soul girl when everything falters. 

It's best if he leave the idea of both of them together.
